Materialising 3D CAD

Published on 25 November 2020 at 08:38

Time has come to start the construction process!

Thanks to the current production technologies as CNC milling and lathing, laser cutting of sheet metal plates and tubes, getting the 3D constructed parts is just a matter of sending CAD data.  Joining and welding the metal parts together for a one-off construction, without welding jig’s, is another piece of cake which involves a lot of measuring and checking.  Then use of tabs and slots in the laser cut parts helps a lot.  Nice to experience that everything fits as foreseen.

I really can't wait to see how this project turns out. If it rides well, I'd pay for plans to build one!
